Mr Sanjay Koul is managing director of all operations in India for The Timken Company. He has responsibility for business and manufacturing operations, financial performance and acceleration of growth in the markets in India. He was named to this position in October 2012. Koul joined Timken in 1990 as a Production Engineer and was among the first set of employees of the company in India. Since then, he has served in additional positions within the rail and supply chain & Sales organizations. In 2007, he was named general manager of the Jamshedpur Plant. Two years later, he was named general manager of supply chain operations in Asia working out of Wuxi, and in 2011, he was named director of manufacturing and supply chain management for Asia. Before joining Timken, Koul served with the Union Carbide India Ltd. as a production supervisor and also as an engineer with an urban environmental agency of India. Koul holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, master’s degree in business management from Xavier Labour Relations Institute and a Doctorate Degree in Management. He completed the EDGE executive development program for senior Timken leaders at the University Of Virginia Darden School Of Business.

 

 

Dr. S. K. Bhattacharyya currently is a senior Professor and Deputy Director of IIT Kharagpur. He was the former Head of Civil Engineering at IIT Kharagpur and the former Director of CSIR-Central Building Research Institute at Roorkee, where he served for a period of six years from 2009 to 2015. He has served as officiating Director of IIT Kharagpur from July to December 2019. He also had served as AICTE-INAE distinguished Professor at BESU, Shibpur (Presently IIEST, Shibpur). He was the Adjunct Professor of BITS-Pilani and Outstanding Professor of Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). He was the Chief Editor of the ‘Institution of Engineers (India) journal – A’- series.

Professor Bhattacharyya visited Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany and University of Durban, South Africa as visiting Professor. He has travelled several other countries such as USA, UK, France, Portugal in connection with the academic activities.

Professor Bhattacharyya’s research areas include sustainable material, structural health monitoring, fluid-structure interactions, structural fire engineering and computational Mechanics. He has published more than 200 papers in peer reviewed National and International journals and conferences. He has five books / book chapters to his credit. He has supervised 16 students for their Ph.D degree and currently supervising 7 students for their doctoral works.

He is the Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE), Fellow of Indian Association of Structural Engineering (FIASE) and Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He is the recipient of the ‘Life time achievement’ and ‘Concrete Technologist of the year’ Awards by the Indian Concrete Institute, K.F. Antia memorial Gold Medal for best publication from Institution of Engineers, Telkom best lecturer Award from University of Durban, University Gold Medal from Calcutta University amongst others.

He has completed a number of research and consultancy projects and has served as Chairman and member of several National committees in the country.

 

 

Mr D. Ravichandar, currently serves as President Long Products – JSW Steel Limited, Incharge of JSW Salem, JSW Italy, Monnet Ispat Limited. He is a whole time Director of Monnet Ispat from August 2018. Earlier, he held several portfolios as CEO – JSW steel Limited, President (earlier VP & AVP) Projects – JSW Steel Vijayanagar Works, Incharge of Fast track expansion of integrated steel plant from 1.6 MT to 10 MT in 9 years, CGM (Corporate Strategy), CGM (Projects and Maintenance) JSW Vasind complex. Mr Ravichandar is also a Governing Council Member, Anna University & Governing Council Member Sona College of Management (Salem). His passion for learning and acquiring academic credentials has resulted into publication of papers in several national and international journals. He as delivered presentation in various conferences and seminars of national and international repute.
